Yukuhashi City is a major producer of figs. Fig farms in the city produce a variety called “houraishi”, which are harvested from August to October every year. This variety was introduced from China approximately 370 years ago, and is moderately sweet with a delicate tartness, to make for a truly elegant flavor experience.
