In early October every year, over 4,500 people participate in this walk which starts from Yukuhashi City’s Shohachimangu Shrine and ends at Beppu City in Oita Prefecture, 100 km away.
The trip is difficult and involves walking all night long, but the participants all have their own reasons to aim for the goal under a slogan of “a journey for the spirit”.
