Minoshima has long been a prosperous fishing location.

In the Minoshima Momote Festival, targets are shot with a bow and arrow as a prayer for a good fishing catch and prosperity. It is said the tradition began with the residents using bows and arrows to protect themselves from frequent pirate attacks.
The festival is held on May 21st every year.

From JR Yukuhashi Station take the Taiyo-koutsu “Minoshima Line” bus for 15 minutes and get off at the “Minoshima” stop、 then walk 2 minutes (Minoshima Shrine is approximately 200 m northeast of the bus stop)
